WiMax forum has recently made an announcement that it has been successful in convincing all the service providers for the trials of WiMax. The first commercial launch is being scheduled to take place in 4 months around Diwali. Earlier it was announced by WiMax Forum that all the spectrum winners are doing the trials except the one.
The Chairman of WiMax Forum, CS Rao stated that “We have touched base with all the operators and all the operators understand that WiMax is the only technology that is ready for being deployed, and that our competition is at least one year away from deployment stage.
Even operator, which was quoted by media as supporting the rival technology (the Mukesh Ambani-owned Infotel broadband,) is going for a trial of WiMax and we are very optimistic of a win there”.
He further stated that WiMax will answer all the questions of the operators as it is a mature technology and has a mature ecosystem which can deliver the equipment right now and has a clear development path.
If Infotel will opt for WiMax, it will prove to be a big gain for the lobby of WiMax as Infotel is the only pan India Player and other winners are expected to follow the footsteps of Infotel.

Apple’s latest version of their iPhone OS, iPhone iOS 4 is available now to download later today. In order to install iOS 4 on your iPhone or iPod Touch you will need to download the latest version of iTunes, iTunes 9.2.
Once you have downloaded the latest version of iTunes, make a manual backup of your iPhone in iTunes, right click on your iPhone in the menu and press backup.
The new iPhone iOS 4 will work with the iPhone 3GS and 3G, although not all features will be available on the iPhone 3G. Read the rest of this entry »

Sony has added new notebooks to its Vaio series with the launch of the Sony EA, EB and EC Series notebooks. The Sony VAIO EA features a 14 inch display, whilst the Sony Vaio EB features a 15.5 inch display and the Sony Vaio EC features a 17.3 inch display.
The Sony Vaio EA and EB series notebooks will be available in a range of bright colors as pictured below, whilst the Vaio EC will only be available in black.
Processing comes in the form of a 2.26GHz Intel Core i3 processor as standard with the option to upgrade to a Core i5 processor, there is also 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, HDMI and Windows 7 Home Premium. Read the rest of this entry »
