Sony Announces 250GB Slim PS3

Sony has announced the launch of a new 250GB PS3 Slim, in November this year. Back in August, Sony had announced PS3 Slim 120GB for $299 (Rs. 14,500 approx.) and now, 250GB HDD loaded PS3 Slim will cost $349 (Rs. 17,000 approx.). North American consumers will be the first ones to get his 250GB PS3 Slim model from November 3 onwards.

The news about 250GB PS3 Slim model CECH-2000B was dug up on the same day when Slim was announced at GamesCon 2009 Expo.

Sony PlayStation 3 Slim doesn’t offer installing games on the hard drive. However, Sony is pushing PlayStation Network’s 2300 movies through the video delivery service. Some of these are available in High Definition. The PS3 Slim won’t have any game bundled for its U.S. consumers but for Europe region, Sony might bundle a game or may be two. Sony PS3 has new Updated Cell Chip

The PlayStation 3 Slim gaming console from Sony Computer Entertainment is not only smaller and cheaper, but adds hardware enhancements that make it speedier, including a new Cell microprocessor.

The gaming console, introduced on Tuesday, is a slimmer and lighter version of older PS3 consoles. It carries a 120GB hard drive, which is an upgrade from the 80GB of storage offered in the earlier PS3. The console will sell for US$299 and become available on September 1.

Sony has made some enhancements under the hood to boost its processing speed and power efficiency. The gaming console will carry an upgraded version of the Cell microprocessor, which is being jointly developed by IBM, Sony and Toshiba.

Sony PS3 Price Cut Hits India

Sony Corporation slashed the internation price of the PlayStation 3 by $100 in hopes of boosting sales of the console ahead of the important holiday season.

Sony Corporation said on Tuesday that, it will cut the price of the currently available 80 gigabyte PlayStation 3 effective immediately, to $299. It is also launching a slimmer, lighter model with a 120 GB hard drive in early September; that version will also cost $299.

Sony also cut the price of its existing 160 GB PlayStation 3 by $100, to $399. All price cuts apply worldwide.

QUAKE III Arena now Runs on your Symbian S60 smartphone

One of the most popular PC multi player game QUAKE III Arena can now be runned on your Nokia smartphone having a Symbian S60 3rd Edition smartphone equipped with a TI OMAP 2420 processor (Nokia N95 8GB, Nokia N82 and Nokia E90). You can also use a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse for playing.

The developer of the other QUAKE ports Olli Hinkka has put this into action.
