Sony Vaio M Series Netbook

Sony has officially announced their new netbook series, Sony Vaio M Series. Sony Vaio M Series Netbook features a 17 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Sony Vaio M Series Netbook is powerd by an Intel Core i5 processor, and it features an ATI Radeon HD5730 graphics card with 1GB of VRAM.

Storage comes in the form of a 250GB 5400 rpm SATA hard drive, and there is also 1GB of DDR2 RAM, graphics is provided by an integrated Intel GMA 3150 chip and there is also a built in web camera. Read the rest of this entry »

MSI GE700 Gaming Notebook

MSI has added a new gaming notebook to its range with the launch of the MSI GE700. The MSI GE700 features a 17 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

MSI GE700 Gaming Notebook is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, and it features an ATI Radeon HD5730 graphics card with 1GB of VRAM.

There is also a choice of hard drives which include 250GB, 320GB and 500GB with the option to add in a second hard drive up to a total capacity between the two of 1TB.

Intel has introduced a new 40 GB Intel X25-V High-Performance Value Solid-State Drive. Intel Value Solid-State Drives (Intel SSDs) represent an advancement in storage technology that is specially engineered to deliver robust performance for cost effective solutions. Intel X25-V SSD was created to take on the most demanding applications your netbook or notebook PC has to offer, at a significant value for solid-state computing. It also provides a high-performance reliable boot drive for desktop and embedded applications.

The Intel X25-V comes with 40GB of storage, and features read speeds of 135MB/s and write speeds of 35MB/s, which isn’t the fastest but this is still around four times faster than a 7.200RPM hard drive.
